Guaranteed Asset Protection, or GAP, waives the difference between a vehicle's insurance settlement and the remaining loan balance when the vehicle is declared a total loss. In DealerRE's dealer-owned structure, coverage options can include 125% or 150% loan-to-value limits, deductible coverage, and PowerTrain Assistance, depending on how the dealership designs the program.
